A dream wont downs the sky was dumb and blank
And mathematioal, and only. thought
Revived our hearts, by memory. The drank
of universe was wound by foroes taut
As meohanical drumB. The stars came out by law
And God became a constable, hie breath
A kind of dust, immutable. He wore
An angine-look, his faotory the earth
And winds his power. In and out we olooked
Each day, the flood-1it damn our sign to punch
Our cards and get to work while minutos knocked
Their way aoross the world, and stopped for lunch.
Cur sheds were. clean and a million light-years old,
But slowly madeour fingers atiff with cold.
